DMCA Policy
IcePoseidon Network respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of this site to do the same. We respond to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA").
Filing a takedown notice
To file a notice, email [email protected] with the following information. Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), a notice missing any of these may not be considered valid:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or someone authorized to act on their behalf
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed
- Identification of the material claimed to be infringing, and information reasonably sufficient to locate it on this site (a direct URL is best)
- Your contact information — name, address, telephone number, and email address
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf
What happens after a valid notice
The reported content is removed and the account responsible is banned, along with an IP ban issued through the same process — see rule 4 on the Rules & Offenses page. Unlike some other ban categories on this site, a copyright-based ban keeps a normal appeal path, since a takedown reflects a civil dispute rather than illegal content.
Counter-notice
If content of yours was removed and you believe this was a mistake or misidentification, you can submit a counter-notice to the same address above. Include identification of the removed material and where it appeared, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the removal was in error, your contact information, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your address (or, if outside the US, for any judicial district in which the site operator may be found).
Repeat infringement
Accounts subject to multiple valid takedown notices are permanently banned regardless of the normal appeal path described above.
