Law Enforcement Guidelines

This page explains how law enforcement agencies can request account or user data from this site. There is no self-service login or portal for law enforcement — every request is reviewed manually by the site owner after it's submitted through the process below.

Child safety reports (CyberTip / NCMEC)

When we become aware of potential child safety concerns on this platform, our Trust & Safety team reviews them and, if appropriate, files a CyberTip report with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) at report.cybertip.org or by fax at 703-224-2122. NCMEC works with local and international law enforcement from there as necessary.

If your request relates to a CyberTip report, include the CyberTip number — it lets us route and verify the request far faster than a request with no reference to it.

Data retention

This site does not hard-delete moderation-relevant data. Removed posts and comments, IP addresses tied to account activity, direct messages (even ones a user has "deleted" from their own view), and a permanent record of deleted accounts (username, account creation date, deletion date, and IP address) are all retained specifically to support follow-up investigations and legal requests like this one.

How to submit a request

Send your request, on official agency letterhead, to: [email protected]

To be processed, a request must include:

1. The legal basis for the request (subpoena, search warrant, or court order)
2. A case or reference number
3. The specific account(s), username(s), or content (post/comment URLs) the request concerns
4. The specific data being requested
5. A return contact (agency email and phone number) for verification
6. An official agency email address or physical letterhead we can verify

Requests that don't identify a specific account or piece of content, or that don't come with valid legal process, will not be fulfilled.

What requires what

• Basic subscriber information (username, email on file, account creation date) — may be provided in response to a valid subpoena.
• IP address logs tied to an account or specific post — generally requires a court order or search warrant, at the owner's discretion based on the request.
• Private message or mod mail content — requires a search warrant.

This site retains moderation-relevant data specifically to support requests like this — see "Data retention" above.

Emergency disclosure

If you believe there is an imminent risk of death or serious physical injury to a person and standard legal process isn't fast enough, say so clearly in your email and explain the emergency. Emergency disclosure requests are still reviewed individually — there's no automatic or expedited system separate from human review.

What this site will not do

• Provide login credentials, an account portal, or any standing access to law enforcement
• Act on requests that aren't in writing or that lack identifying legal documentation
• Confirm or deny the existence of an account except in response to valid legal process
